I am probably the only person you will ever meet that was born in Rhode Island. I was transplanted to Alabama when I was 15 and took root. I graduated from Grissom High, received a BS in Chemistry from UAH, married a Huntsville native and went to Auburn for a MS in Biochemistry. I worked as a toxicologist until the babies started to arrive. After that I was a full time wife and mother until I was widowed in 1999. Teaching seemed like a great job for a single mom and I was able to get a non-traditional teaching certificate. My first and only job was here at SHS, teaching chemistry. I am still excited to come to work every day; I really do enjoy teaching…and the students and staff here at SHS are the best!
My children are grown, live here in Madison County and I am happy to report they are nice people and taxpayers. Currently, I have 4 grandchildren. I am still horse crazy and keep a TN Walker, Birdie, and a Quarter Horse, Skittles, on the family farm. My other pets are a Great Dane (Maximus) and a Catahoula hound (Beaker)
