I grew up in Athens, AL and attended The University of North Alabama where I received my Bachelor's in English and Master's in Education. I am entering my eighth year of teaching English. I have also worked as a writing specialist and a creative writing developer for educational programs. I currently live in Madison County with my husband, Clint, and our 2 year old son, Grant. I love acting, reading, writing, and coffee! I teach AP Language and Composition and English 10. I love being part of this wonderful community and working with some amazing teachers!
My Philosophy- We learn best through a productive struggle. My job is to be a guide and a support system for students as they work through ideas/concepts that require them to go beyond surface level thinking. I am here to make sure that my students find success if they want it, push themselves beyond where they think they can go, and grow as thinkers and learners.
