Dual Enrollment affords a student the opportunity to enroll in a post-secondary institution while attending high school for the purpose of earning credits toward a high school diploma and/or a post-secondary degree.
Before enrolling in any post-secondary courses while in high school, a student must:
1) Meet requirements for Dual Enrollment (11th or 12th grade, 3.0+ GPA)
2) Meet with their high school counselor and administrator for approval at the local school level to enroll in the program.
3) Complete necessary paperwork for both the college/university (each college/university will have its own forms) and Madison County Schools (Dual Enrollment Approval Form below).
*Be aware that several high school courses require more than one college course to meet requirements for equivalency (see Dual Enrollment Course List below)
All Dual Enrollment requirements may be found in the Madison County High School Academic Guide.
