I am Twyla C. Maxtion, a native of Livingston, Alabama. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, a Master's of Urban and Regional Planning, and a Master's of Secondary Education (Biology) from The Alabama A&M University.
While entering my 12th year at Sparkman High School, the courses I have taught include: Environmental Science, Marine Science, Zoology, Earth & Space Science, and Biology. I am currently teacher AP Environmental Science and regular Environmental Science. The Environmental Club and Sparkman Service Organization (SSO) are the two clubs in which I am the sponsor.
In addition, I am a question writer and reviewer for the National Science Bowl and a science teacher for North Alabama Center Educational Excellence (NACEE) during the summer months.
I am married to Derrick Maxtion and is the mother of two beautiful children, Daniel Christian and Ryan LeeAnn.
My philosophy is that every student is important and every student has a story. I believe that it is my job to educate every student and listen to every student's story.
