About Mrs. Quaife

Hello!

I am thoroughly looking forward to this year. This is my 14th year teaching at Sparkman, and I am SO excited. There are few things as wonderful as the first day of school – meeting new students who will inspire me and, hopefully, be inspired by me. I love my job. I love getting to share my love of reading and writing with my students. I am a big supporter of students having personal responsibility for their actions or lack thereof.  I want my students involved in their learning. I like to incorporate classroom discussion, group activities, varied writing exercises, and creativity in my lessons. I know that not every student is the same, and I am thankful for that. I truly believe Sparkman’s motto: Excellence our Tradition. Diversity our Strength.

If at any time this year I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me. Email is the best way to do that rquaife@mcssk12.org I am excited to see what this year brings.

This year I will be teaching English 10, Creative Writing 1, and Creative Writing 2/Literary Magazine. I am the adviser for Sparkman's literary magazine, Silhouette, which is a student publication of student poetry, short stories, art, photography, music, and videos. We publish once a year, in May.

Have a great day!
