This is my first year at Sparkman High School and I'm excited to be in a place that loves learning as much as I do! I teach math, science, and social studies in the Senator Learning Community. I have lived in Alabama since 2014 and am proud to be ringing in the 2017-2018 school year as a Senator.
I graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in linguistics and a minor in cultural anthropology, but some years later I decided I wanted to make a difference in the world and use my passion for learning. I received my MEd from the University of Pittsburgh and credit my hometown with influencing my own teaching philosophy: everyone can learn and everyone deserves an equitable education that drives them to be active members of society. My classroom is a home for scholars from all backgrounds, cultures, languages, orientations, and ability levels. This is my third year as a teacher and I enjoy waking up each morning to do something that I love with some amazing people.
